Wagaydy is an Australian Aboriginal dialect cluster of uncertain classification. Varieties are Patjtjamalh (Batytyamalh), the language of the Wadjiginy (Wadyiginy, Wagaydy, Wogaity); Pungupungu (AKA Kandjerramalh, Kuwema); Ami (Amijangal), and Manda. According to the AIATSIS database, Patjtjamalh/Wadyginy is not known to be related to any other language, though it has borrowed grammatical and lexical material from neighboring Daly languages. Tryon (1987) notes that it is 80% cognate with Pungupungu, but there are serious grammatical differences that prevent them from being considered dialects.
