Lipan is an Eastern Southern Athabaskan language spoken by the Lipan Apache. In 1981, there were only a few elderly speakers
still alive, and it has become extinct since then. There are still a small number of Lipian Apache people who know and speak
the language, and keep the old traditions. The language is currently isolated to these people, is being used and passed down.
