Chilcotin (also Tsilhqot’in, Tsilhqut’in, Tzilkotin) is a Northern Athabaskan language spoken in British Columbia by the Tsilhqot’in people. The name Chilcotin is derived from the Chilcotin name for themselves: Tŝilhqot’in, literally people of the red ochre river.
